1:1 Chromebook Initiative
Pittston Area School District is excited to provide Chromebook devices to students. As we embark on this new initiative, the mobile device will become an important part of your school’s curriculum, and students will begin to use them regularly. This page contains all documents and forms related to the 1:1 Initiative and the upcoming distribution of digital devices. Click on a link to download the document or form.
Beginning the 2020-2021 school year, ALL students will be provided a District Chromebook. Chromebooks for students in grades K-5 will remain in the school building. Students in grades 6-12 are able to take the chromebooks outside of school. This 1:1 initiative provides students and faculty with equal access to their own internet-ready device. Stakeholders will have access to their Chromebooks 24/7, and are permitted to use the device outside of the school building.
Several steps must be taken to ensure your student continues to receive the benefits of a device in school. As soon as possible, please do the following:
Review the Chromebook User Agreement and District Acceptable Use Policy.
Sign, complete and return the Student/Parent AUP Consent Form.
Review Chromebook insurance letter regarding OPTIONAL insurance for student device. Portal access is included in this letter.

Unpaid fines and fees of students may be turned over to a collection agency. The District may also file a report of stolen property with the local law enforcement agency.
