Free Breakfast and Lunch
Attention Families!
We are pleased to inform you that the Pittston Area School District will be implementing a new provision known as the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) beginning in the 2022-2023 school year. This program is available to schools and districts that are participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs.
All enrolled students of the Pittston Area School District are eligible to receive a nutritional breakfast and lunch each school day at no charge to your household.
No further action is required of you. Your child(ren) will be able to participate in these meal programs without paying a fee or submitting an application.
All meals will meet federal and state guidelines. Students must take 3 of the 4 items offered at breakfast, and 1 of those items must be a 1/2 cup fruit. At lunch, students must take 3 of the 5 items offered and 1 of those items must be a 1/2 cup fruit or vegetable.
Please note – students that refuse to take the required fruit or vegetable will be charged for their lunch. They must take the complete meal in order to meet federal and state guidelines.
If we can be of any further assistance, please contact the Food Service Department at 570-654-2415 ext. 2221 or Email Christine Dunn.
