Preamble
The constitution of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania states: “The General Assembly shall provide for the maintenance and support of a thorough and efficient system of public education to serve the needs of the Commonwealth.” This provision mandates a quality education for all children in the Commonwealth. School districts have the primary responsibility for the achievement of the goals of quality education as established by the State Board of Education. Therefore, it is vital that school districts work in partnership with the families, the community, and the appropriate social, religious, and governmental institutions to insure the achievement of these goals. In order to foster achievement of a quality education, the school environment should be safe, attractive and orderly, promote a willingness to work for objectives, stimulate a readiness to continue learning throughout life, and encourage the fullest possible educational development of all students.

Child Find Procedures: The goal is to have a referral and intervention system in place to address educational and behavioral issues in the classroom prior to special education involvement.
Truancy: Special education students will be receiving an in-depth prevention plan but the goal for all students is to uncover and remediate the root cause of truancy.
Social Services: Clothes closets for our families and doing out-reach for students and their families who have mental health needs. Counseling will be provided to special education students
Continuum of Services: Life skills support K-12, emotional support in IC, MS, & HS, learning support for language arts and math, co-taught classes, and a research based reading intervention program. The goal is keep all PA students in their home district and to provide supports for all students.
