A cash bingo will be held October 11th starting at 1pm at the Germania Hose Company. Doors open at 12pm. All proceeds benefit the Pittston Area baseball program (grades 7-12).

Pittston City's Shop with a Cop - December 5, 2026 12pm-2pm (registration information is on the attachment)
Pittston’s Shop with a Cop holiday program is a special, private event designed to create lasting
memories for elementary-school-aged children facing challenging times. Thanks to the
generosity of our sponsors, each child is given the opportunity to shop alongside local law
enforcement officers and pick out gifts for their loved ones — building positive relationships
and spreading holiday cheer throughout our community.
In addition, we make sure each participating child receives a gift from Santa and a pair of
festive pajamas.
Sponsorship dollars also help make this day unforgettable by providing coffee, snacks, a reusable
shopping tote, and a free lunch for children and their caregivers. Kids will enjoy a fun-filled,
festive afternoon — complete with making s’mores alongside our Firefighters and EMS Department,
who volunteer their time to help make this program possible.
Please complete the application form below in its entirety to be considered for the program. We
kindly ask that you allow several weeks for processing. Every applicant will be contacted via the
email address provided with notification of acceptance or denial.

The Pittston Area High School Class of 2027 recently selected their 2026
Homecoming Court. The Homecoming Queen will be announced Friday,
October 2 during a pep at the school. The Homecoming Court will be treated
to a luncheon prior to the pep rally, hosted by the Yearbook Club.
The 2026 Homecoming Queen will be crowned, and she and her court will be
honored during half-time of the Pittston Area Varsity Football game on Friday
October 2, 2026. The 2025 Homecoming Queen, Juliana Menendez will return to
crown the new queen.

Please come out on November 15, 2026 to support the Pittston Area Wrestling program for the inaugural PA Wrestling Cash Bingo fundraiser at Germania Hose Company. Proceeds support Pittston Area Wrestling athletes, male and female, kindergarten through 12th grade.
Doors open 11:00 am. Games start rolling at 1:00 pm.
Ticket Sales: include 20 regular games. Additional books and special games will be available for additional purchase. Tickets $25/advance. $30/at the door (if available). Only 250 tickets will be sold. In person sales will be held 9/27 3-5pm at the HS gym entrance.

Pittston Area Golf Team Finishes First in the Wyoming Valley Conference
The Patriots finished 13-1 in the WVC.Pittston Area battles the rain and elements and defeats Dallas at Irem Temple Country Club and claims the WVC crown for the just the 5th time in school history and the first time in 15 years. Ryan Noone was the low score with a 39 followed by co-Captain Gianni Bartorillo with a 40, David Homschek 41 and Senior Ryan Tonte with a 44. With the historic win Pittston Area claims the #1 seed in the playoffs as they fight for a District Championship berth.

Pittston Area Girls lacrosse team will begin non-mandatory practices on Monday September 14th @ 5:00pm at the lacrosse field behind the primary center.
These are open to all returning and new players from 9 - 12 grades interested in playing in the upcoming 2027 season.
No prior experience is necessary. Coaches will be on hand during these sessions to help new players get familiar with the sport. Equipment will be available to use.

PPP - Mason Gross - Gentlemen's Dash Fundraiser
My name is Mason Gross, and I am a High School Special Education teacher in the Pittston Area School District. In addition to teaching, I serve as an assistant varsity coach for the Pittston Area Girls Basketball Team and coach girls travel basketball for NEPA Elite based out of Scranton.
A proud Pittston Area graduate from the Class of 2014, I continued my education and athletic career at Wilkes University, earning a bachelor's degree in biology in 2019 and a Master of Business Administration in 2023. During my time at Wilkes, I spent four years as a member of the men’s basketball team. Following college, I played two seasons of semi-professional basketball with the Wyoming Valley Clutch before transitioning into coaching.
My coaching journey began at Wilkes University, where I spent four years as an assistant coach with the men’s basketball program. Those experiences helped shape my passion for mentorship, leadership, and service—values that I now strive to instill in my students and athletes every day.
I am participating in this year’s Gentlemen’s Dash in honor of my biggest fan, my grandmother, Carol, who lost her fight in 2019. Throughout her courageous battle with cancer, she never stopped supporting me. No matter the distance, weather, or circumstances, she found a way to be at nearly every game I played. Her strength, resilience, and unwavering love continue to inspire me, and I am proud to run in her honor.
Supporting Paint the Planet Pink is important because cancer affects countless individuals and families in our communities. The organization provides critical resources, support, and hope to those facing some of life’s most difficult challenges. Events like the Gentlemen’s Dash not only raise funds but also increase awareness, encourage early detection, and remind those battling cancer that they are not alone. By supporting Paint the Planet Pink, we are investing in our neighbors, friends, family members, and future generations.
