Our second graders celebrated their big transition from the Pittston Area Primary Center to third grade at the Intermediate Center with a special Moving Up Day celebration! 💙❤️
The PTO transformed the gym into a prom-style party where students danced with friends, enjoyed delicious snacks, struck their best poses in the photo booth, and made memories that will last for years to come. 📸🎶🍿
A huge thank you to our amazing PTO for sponsoring this special event and for providing every student with a commemorative T-shirt to remember this exciting milestone. 👕🎉
We are so proud of our second graders and all they have accomplished during their time at the Primary Center. Best of luck as you begin your next chapter at the Intermediate Center—we know you'll continue to do great things! ⭐📚🏫

This spring, first graders in Mrs. Litchkowski’s, Ms. Imbrogno’s, Ms. Boylan’s and Ms. Richards’ classes had the exciting opportunity to learn about the world of jazz with guest musician and music teacher Mrs. Tara Middleton from Philadelphia, alongside our own music teacher, Mr. Naples! 🎵✨
Students explored the many elements of jazz through scat singing, improvisation, rhythm, and creativity. They learned jazz standards such as Watermelon Man and discovered the contributions of legendary jazz musicians like Cab Calloway and Herbie Hancock. 🎤🎹
Jazz encourages creativity, listening skills, and self-expression, and our students did an amazing job finding their own unique musical voices! 🎶👏
A special thank you to Mrs. Middleton and Mr. Naples for providing this memorable musical experience and helping our students develop an appreciation for this uniquely American art form! ❤️🎺

As the school year winds down, Mrs. Luvender’s class has been making memories and celebrating all they’ve accomplished! 🌟
Students enjoyed a special 🎲 Board Game Day, playing favorites like Hi Ho Cherry-O, Candy Land, Connect Four, and Paw Patrol Pop-It. These games helped build teamwork, turn-taking, and problem-solving skills while having lots of fun!
🎩 The young artists also showed off their creativity by decorating colorful hats to wear and enjoy.
🍬 One of the most exciting activities was the “Party in a Bag” exchange! Students decorated brown paper bags and filled them with sweet treats, salty snacks, chocolate goodies, and a surprise treasure. Then, they played a fun game of Hot Potato 🎶🥔—when the music stopped, the bag in their hands became theirs to keep!
What a wonderful way to celebrate a year filled with learning, friendship, and growth. Way to go, kindergarteners! ❤️📚✨

Friday, May 29th, the second-graders will celebrate with a dance. Students are welcome to dress their best or wear their amazing new shirts.
Students traded traditional desks for a cozy campsite as their classroom was transformed into a giant tent complete with draped fabric overhead. Armed with flashlights, campers worked on their lessons, sang campfire songs, and enjoyed a special s’mores-inspired snack. 🔦📚🎶🍫
Research shows that hands-on, themed learning experiences help increase student engagement, creativity, and memory retention. Judging by the smiles, this classroom adventure was a camp-tastic success! 🏕️❤️

Students traveled through all 4 Disney parks during a special Disney-themed learning day filled with fun, imagination, and adventure! Each child received their own Mickey ears and “Disney Magic Band” as they journeyed through exciting activities inspired by the parks. ✨🎟️
From magical moments to lots of smiles and laughter, it was a practically perfect day of learning the Disney way! ❤️🖤💛 #DisneyDay #SecondGradeMagic #LearningIsAnAdventure #PittstonAreaProud

Students in Mr. Lombardo and Mrs. Kelly’s kindergarten classes took the traditional spring flower project to the next level by using hydroponics to grow beautiful snapdragons and zinnias! 🌼💧
But the learning didn’t stop there! Our kindergarten gardeners also helped grow several types of lettuce and greens in the hydroponic garden, including leafy vegetables used to make fresh salads today! 🥗🥬 Students were excited to harvest their crops and enjoy the results of their hard work with ranch or Italian dressing.
Through this hands-on STEM experience, students learned about plant growth, responsibility, healthy eating, and how hydroponic systems can grow plants without soil. The STEM Lab has been blooming with curiosity, teamwork, and springtime fun! 🌷☀️👩🌾👨🌾
A special thank you to Mrs. Reza and Mrs. Luvender for coordinating this amazing project and helping our young learners grow both plants and STEM skills! 💚

Ms. Richards’s first grade class recently received their published class books all about what they want to be when they grow up. 👩⚕️👨🚒👩🏫👨🍳✈️
Each page featured student writing paired with photos of our first graders dressed as their future professions — bringing their dreams to life one page at a time! 💭📖
From future teachers to veterinarians, engineers to athletes, these young authors proved that big dreams start with imagination, creativity, and confidence. We can’t wait to see where their stories take them! ⭐🇺🇸

To celebrate their accomplishment, they held a special publishing party complete with cupcakes and lots of smiles! 🧁🎉
A very special thank you goes to Mrs. Chaump, our reading specialist, for all of her help and support throughout this journey. We would also like to thank Educational Assistants Mrs. Halford and Mrs. Klush for their encouragement and assistance along the way.
Congratulations to our amazing new authors! We are so proud of each and every one of you! ❤️

This yearly tradition is always a favorite, and we look forward to seeing the incredible creativity and word knowledge our second graders showcase each year. 🌟👏 Great job to our students, teachers, and families for making this parade such a success! ❤️💙

The youngest Patriots filled the crowd with signs, cheers, and excitement as they wished the team good luck before first pitch at 1 PM. Even more special — many of the players walking onto the field today were once Primary Center students themselves! 💙⚾️
Good luck, Patriots! Your biggest little fans are rooting for you all the way! 🔥♥️💙 #PatriotPride #YoungestPatriots #RoadToThePlayoffs

For nearly 35 days, students became real-life scientists as they observed caterpillars transform through the amazing process of metamorphosis into beautiful butterflies! 🐛➡️🦋 Students tracked daily changes, charted growth, listened to stories, watched videos, sang songs, and lovingly cared for their tiny classroom visitors along the way. 🔬📚🎶
The fun even included a friendly game of Butterfly Jeopardy! 🏆💡
Today was release day, and while our butterflies spread their wings and flew away, a few seemed pretty comfortable staying with their second grade friends a little longer! ☀️🌸🦋
