In Room 116, learning is in full bloom with Mrs. Ignatovich (Speech Teacher 🗣️) and Mrs. Chaump (1st Grade Reading Specialist 📚)! 🌼 After exploring colorful poems, students brought their creativity to life by building beautiful rainbows and writing vivid, descriptive sentences 🎨🌈.
They also got their hands busy planting “speech & language” skills with adorable potted creations 🌱💬—practicing vocabulary, expression, and communication every step of the way! Way to grow, Room 116! 💚🌟

They’ve noticed some fun (and funny!) behaviors—like the ducks’ attraction to shiny objects, shoe laces, and even curly long hair! 👟✨ The students have also been observing preening and learning how ducks care for their feathers, along with taking a closer look at their webbed feet.
Each night, the ducks head home with their “babysitters,” where Mrs. Ferentino even let them enjoy some swim time 🏊♂️💛—she truly is the best duck babysitter!
We’re excited to continue these hands-on learning experiences, and the ducks will be with us for a few more days next week! 🐥🐣

Each student filled a plastic egg with a special item and created thoughtful, descriptive clues to help their classmates guess what was inside. This fun and engaging activity reinforced oral reading, public speaking, and critical thinking skills in an exciting way!
We loved seeing our students build confidence as they shared their clues and listened closely to others. Way to go, readers and thinkers! 💛👏

Our classes have been having such a special time visiting the ducklings in the art room! 🐣🎨 Students are gently petting their soft down feathers, carefully observing how they preen to spread oil and keep their feathers waterproof, and watching them grow a little more each day. 🪶💛
After spending time observing, students are doing kid writing and summaries to share what they’ve learned. They’ve been exploring the duck life cycle—from egg, to embryo, to hatching (“unzip & pip!”), to duckling, and learning it takes about 28 days to hatch! 🥚⏱️ They’ve also learned how the incubator keeps eggs warm and how the brooder box, with a heat lamp, food, and water, helps keep the ducklings safe and healthy. 🔥💧🥣
Students are even learning fun facts like how ducks have webbed feet for swimming, how preening helps make feathers waterproof, and the names of different duck breeds like Saxony, Khaki Campbell, and Rouen. 🦆🌊
We love seeing their curiosity, gentle care, and excitement as they learn through this hands-on experience! 💕

Today we celebrated students who stood out for their positive behavior and strong character. By showing Self-control, Taking responsibility, a positive Attitude, and Respect, these students earned a spot on our STAR Bingo Board. ⭐
When 10 names connected, it was time for a celebration! 🎯 Those students received an extra prize, presented by Mr. Savokinas. 🎁👏
We are so proud of our students for making thoughtful choices and contributing to a positive school environment. Keep up the great work — your STAR behavior does not go unnoticed! ✨

As part of their biography study on Helen Keller, students have been exploring sign language and Braille over the past two weeks. 🤟📖 Today, the 2nd graders took their learning into the hallways, using the Braille alphabet to decode clues and figure out which classmate was which!
Before heading out, each student wrote their name in Braille and used colorful gems to create the raised dots—bringing this important form of communication to life in a hands-on way. 💎🙌
What a creative and meaningful way for 2nd grade to learn, explore, and have fun! 💙

Each family will receive four tickets for entry, and students will wear caps and gowns provided by the school (caps are yours to keep!). 🎟️👩🎓👨🎓
We can’t wait to celebrate this special milestone with you—more details coming soon! 📚🌟

Three lucky students were recently recognized after being “caught” enjoying a good book! 👀📖 While reading in the library, each student discovered a special ticket hidden inside their book — what a fun and exciting surprise! 🎟️✨
This special moment celebrates their love of reading and reminds us all that you never know what adventures (or surprises!) you might find inside the pages of a great book. 📕💫

Our ducklings have officially moved into their cozy brooder box, and what an exciting first day it has been!
We have 8 fluffy friends settling in from yesterday:
💚 Emerald
🍀 Clover
🌲 Forest
🏹 Hunter
🌿 Sage
🌲 Juniper
🫒 Olive
💎 Jade
And we welcomed one more special arrival this morning still in the incubator…
🍏 Granny Smith!
The ducklings are busy getting used to their new home—peeping, exploring, and staying warm under the heat lamp. Students are loving watching them grow and learn more about how to care for these adorable little ones. 🐥✨
Stay tuned for more updates as our green-themed flock continues to grow! 💚🍀

The day began with a special visit from a mischievous leprechaun, who left behind some tasty treats! Students used those treats along with their math skills to count and sort Froot Loops, then turned them into colorful rainbows.
Sticking with the rainbow theme, the class practiced color words before diving into science. Students learned all about weather and how rainbows are made, and had a blast completing experiments using Skittles—exploring dissolving, density, and watching colors bleed and blend together.
The excitement continued with a color-changing experiment, where students were amazed as their cereal milk changed colors right before their eyes!
The day wrapped up with learning about St. Patrick, good luck charms, and exploring Irish dancing and music. It was a day full of learning, laughter, and St. Patrick’s Day magic! 🍀✨

Congratulations to all of our students who have already participated in CHAMP’S Home Run Readers presented by Red Robin 🍔📖 — we are so proud of you! 💙
⏰ This exciting program wraps up this Sunday, March 22, so we’re in our final stretch! 🏃♂️💨
📌 Don’t forget to turn in all reading tracking logs with minutes read to Mrs. Chaump ASAP!
Let’s finish strong and keep those pages turning! 📖✨ #HomeRunReaders #KeepReading #FinishStrong

Wishing all of our students, families, and staff a day full of luck, laughter, and a little bit of magic! 💚✨
May your day be filled with shamrocks, rainbows, and maybe even a pot of gold at the end! 🌟🍀🌈

🐣💚 Ducklings Are Hatching at Pittston Area Primary Center! 💚🐣
What an exciting day in our Art Room! We began the school day with one duckling, Clover, and by the end of the day four more ducklings joined the flock — Emerald, Forest, Hunter, and Sage!
In honor of ☘️ St. Patrick’s Day, all of our ducklings were given names inspired by shades of green.
Students were able to observe the hatching process throughout the day both in person and through our live stream, watching the amazing moment when the ducklings pip and unzip their shells. It has been a wonderful hands-on learning experience about life cycles and animal development!
The ducklings will remain in the incubator until they are completely dry and fluffy before moving to the brooder.
