🎉 Celebrating Our Amazing Student Teachers! 🎉
As we wrap up this part of the school year at the Pittston Area Primary Center, we’d like to give a huge shout-out to two outstanding student teachers who have completed their field experiences with us!
🎨 Mr. Jon Weber from Keystone College spent 7 wonderful weeks in the art room with Mrs. Davis. His creativity, enthusiasm, and dedication brought so much joy to our young artists!
📚 Miss Brooklyn Pedana from Wilkes University completed her semester in Mrs. DiGregorio’s First Grade classroom. Her kindness, hard work, and passion for teaching made a meaningful impact on our students every single day.
We are so grateful for their commitment and the positive energy they brought to our school. 💙❤️
Best of luck as you continue your journey toward becoming exceptional educators — we know you’ll do great things!

🦃🎈 Happy Thanksgiving from Ms. Richards’ Class! 🎈🦃
This week, our students marched into the holiday spirit by reading Balloons Over Broadway and learning all about the history of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade! After discovering how the iconic giant balloons came to be, our young creators designed and crafted their very own parade balloons.
Today, we proudly held our first-ever classroom balloon parade—and it was a huge hit! 🎉 The creativity, color, and excitement were truly something to be thankful for.
Wishing everyone a warm, joyful, and festive Thanksgiving! 🍁🧡

🦃🔍 The Case of the Missing Turkey… 🔍🦃
Mrs. Klem’s first grade class turned into master detectives this week!

Our students discovered that the turkey they invited to Thanksgiving dinner had mysteriously disappeared. Working in pairs, they completed task cards that reviewed reading, phonics, grammar, and math skills. With each task they solved, they earned a new clue to help crack the case.

After some clever detective work, the mystery was finally solved…
Squirrel took Turkey to the bakery at sunrise to get a pumpkin pie! 🥧🌅

Great job, detectives — case closed! 👏🕵️‍♂️🕵️‍♀️

Mrs. Antal’s class celebrated their annual “Friendsgiving” Feast. The class read about the First Thanksgiving and talked about Thanksgiving traditions. The class shared some traditions, discussed their favorite foods and worked on a few Thanksgiving activities. The class used team work to make homemade butter just like the Pilgrims made on the first Thanksgiving. The class gathered together to have some of their favorite treats and enjoyed the delicious butter on crackers! Room 221 wishes all our friends and family a very "Happy Thanksgiving!’🦃

🍁 A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving in Mrs. Zambetti’s Class! 🦃
Students in Mrs. Zambetti's class had a wonderful time celebrating A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving! In the story, Peppermint Patty invites herself—and a few friends—over to Charlie Brown’s house for Thanksgiving. Poor Charlie Brown doesn’t know how to cook a traditional dinner, so he serves buttered toast, popcorn, jellybeans, and pretzels. The friends gather around a mismatched table in the backyard, and although Peppermint Patty is disappointed at first, they eventually work things out and discover the true meaning of the holiday: spending time together and being thankful for one another. ❤️
In our classroom celebration, students created their own festive placemats, brought in some of their favorite treats, and shared what they are thankful for—especially their friendships and all the wonderful things in their lives. They also practiced meal etiquette by passing food, staying seated, and using their best manners. 🍽️✨
It was a heartwarming day filled with gratitude, laughter, and the spirit of togetherness—just like in the story! 📚💛

Students had an exciting visit to the hydroponic farmstands in the STEM lab with Technology Education teacher Mrs. Reza! They explored our thriving plants up close — including the Dragon Tongue beans, where they could already spot the tiny pods forming, and the vibrant purple snow pea vines climbing their way upward.
Behind the scenes, Mrs. Luvender and Mrs. Reza have been carefully tending to a wide variety of lettuces and vegetables, helping keep our hydroponic systems healthy and flourishing.
Hands-on learning at its best! 💡🌿
Our young scientists are discovering how hydroponics works and seeing the results of their care and curiosity in real time.
