Today, the Pittston Area PTO once again brought the amazing Joe Romano to the Primary Center for a fun and engaging magic show in celebration of Read Across America Week!
Students enjoyed an exciting performance filled with laughter, surprises, and interactive moments that highlighted the joy and importance of reading. It was a wonderful way to spark enthusiasm for books and celebrate literacy together.
A big thank you to the Pittston Area PTO for continuing to support memorable experiences that truly make reading magical! 🪄📖💙

Students are carefully observing the growth of their plants in the STEM Lab and recording their findings in their journals. They are tracking changes over time, testing the water levels, and checking the pH to make sure their plants have exactly what they need to thrive.
Hands-on science is helping our young learners think like real scientists as they monitor, measure, and reflect on their plant growth journey! 🌿✨

Great choices deserve great recognition! Students who were noticed going above and beyond with STAR behavior — showing Self-control, Taking responsibility, a positive Attitude, and Respect — had their names placed on our STAR Bingo Board. ⭐
When 10 names lined up, it was time to celebrate! 🎉 Those students earned an extra prize, presented by Mr. Savokinas. 🎁👏
We are proud of the way our students demonstrate kindness, responsibility, and leadership each day. Positive behavior helps make our school a safe and supportive place for everyone. Keep making those STAR choices — you never know when your name might be next on the board! ✨

Don’t miss this fun and festive opportunity to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Pittston! 🍀

During art class this week, students will learn about the role of the mother duck (hen), what takes place during the 28-day incubation process, and how ducklings develop inside the egg. Students will also create a drawing of a hen sitting on her nest inspired by Make Way for Ducklings by Robert McCloskey, focusing on his Caldecott award winning, classic illustration style.
We look forward to integrating art into the science process as we observe, learn, and count down to hatch day! 🐣

This week, our classrooms are buzzing with hands-on, heart-filled activities that connect creativity, literacy, and math. Students are designing Valentine boxes and bags, creating Valentine-themed art that explores patterns, colors, and shapes, and enjoying classroom celebrations that practice kindness, sharing, and community.
Enjoy your long weekend. See you Tuesday, February 17th

Permission forms only need to be returned if you do not want your child to participate in holding the ducklings. The eggs arrive next week!

Families, here are a couple of important dates to keep on your radar. Monday, February 9th is a Full Act 80 Day, which means there will be no school for students—enjoy a long weekend!
We’re also looking forward to Friday, February 13th, when we’ll be celebrating Valentine’s Day. It’s sure to be a fun day filled with smiles, kindness, and classroom celebrations.
