🎉 Ms. Chromey’s Kindergarten had a blast celebrating the 100th Day of School! 🎉
Students showed off their creativity with hats covered in 100 stickers, enjoyed 100 snacks, and made necklaces using 100 Fruit Loops. We wrapped up our classroom fun with a Kindergarten 100th Day celebration in the gym, where all of the kindergarten classes participated together in the activities!
In the gym, we sang and moved to songs while practicing counting by 1s, 5s, and 10s. Then came the challenges—being quiet for 100 seconds, singing for 100 seconds, dancing for 100 seconds, and more! The excitement built as we counted down to 0… and finished with a silly string surprise! What a perfect way to celebrate being 100 days smarter! 💯🎈

🎉 Happy 100th Day of School, Pittston Area Primary Center! 🎉
Today our students celebrated being 100 days smarter with lots of fun, hands-on learning. Across the building, classrooms marked the day with activities like counting by 10s to make 100, creating 100 necklaces, designing 100 paper crowns, and reading and writing all about the 100th day of school. 📚✏️
Students also showed off their creativity with their outfits—some dressed like they were 100 years old, others wore 100 of something, and many showed their school spirit with “100 Days Smarter” and school-themed shirts. It was a great day full of learning, laughter, and creativity! 💯💙

Mrs. Antal’s Kindergarten class has been busy working on an Alaska theme for January. Throughout the month the students looked at maps, read stories, learned about animals that live in Alaska and learned some new vocabulary words. The students wrote about what they would do if they lived in an igloo by using facts that they learned. Fun centers were used to learn about Polar Opposites, how to build a snowman, Arctic weather and the fastest way to melt ice. The class took a virtual tour of the Arctic and got to watch the Northern Lights in the sky. Each student got a chance to design their own igloo and made Eskimos. The class wrapped up the theme by having an Eskimo Day. They wore their parkas and Muk Luks to school and watched the movie Snow Buddies which was set in Alaska. We had “Snow Much Fun” learning about Alaska!

🐧📖Tux brought cookies, Penguins' hats, and collector's trading cards to Mrs. Melvin's class today. The reading celebration continued while Mrs. Melvin's read aloud with Tux. The students discussed the book, "Tacky in Trouble" by Helen Lester. The story brought a quirky penguin named Tacky to life. 📚

We are so proud of our top readers!

🌱📚 Growing Readers & Scientists! 🥗🥣
Pittston Area Primary Center 2nd grade students got their hands dirty (in the best way!) planting seedlings in our STEM Lab hydroponic farm stands. This exciting activity connects directly to their reading series story, The Ugly Vegetables by Grace Lin, bringing literature to life through hands-on learning.
During the lesson, Technology Teacher Mrs. Reza explained the hydroponic technology, helping students understand how plants can grow without soil and how science and technology work together in modern farming. Students are exploring the needs of plants while learning about the science and technology behind hydroponic farming, all while recording their observations and reflections in their STEM journals.
The best part? 🌿 When the vegetables are ready, students will harvest their crops and use them to make soup and salad, just like in the story—an amazing farm-to-table experience!
We love seeing our students grow as readers, scientists, and problem solvers! 💚🌱
