Leo flyer "Coins for Cancer" Project Pittston Area Leo Club Dear Pittston Area Students and Families, As one of our service projects this school year, in cooperation with the Four Diamonds Organization, we are committed to conducting a coin drive for Conquering Childhood Cancer. In the United States alone, approximately sixteen thousand children under the age of 20 are diagnosed with cancer annually. Roughly forty-one children are diagnosed with cancer every single day. With your help, we can move one step closer to conquering childhood cancer. The Leo Club has placed cans for the "Coins for Cancer" Project in each classroom of our school. We will be accepting donations from March 9th through March 20th. Any and all help is greatly appreciated! The classrooms that raise the most funds during this time period will be granted a pizza party provided by our club. Thank you and remember, every penny counts!
📚⛺ Mrs. Luvender’s Kindergarten Class Celebrates Reading! ⛺📚
We can read on a boat
We can read with a goat!
We can read in a house
We can read with a mouse!
Read Across America Week came and went,
But we got to read some books in a TENT! ⛺📖

They had a cozy and fun reading experience as they celebrated the joy of books together. Even though Read Across America Week has ended, these young readers showed that the fun of reading can happen anywhere—even inside a tent!

Way to go, readers! 🌟📚

February was National Children's Dental Health Month!
Ms. Lori and Mr. McDermott had so much fun teaching the kids why taking care of their teeth is so important and how to keep their smiles healthy and bright.
From learning proper brushing techniques to understanding why healthy habits matter.

A very special thank you to Dr. Casey, Dr.
Infantino, and Dr. Victoria Lombardo for generously donating toothbrushes and
toothpaste to our students. Your kindness helps keep our little learners smiling!

Chaumps home run reader flyer Dear Parents and Guardians, We are excited to share a wonderful literacy opportunity for our students through a partnership with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders! Our school has the chance to participate in CHAMP'S Home Run Readers, presented by Red Robin-a fun and rewarding reading challenge designed to encourage a love of reading! The reading challenge will run for three weeks, from March 2 through March 22, 2026. During this time, students are encouraged to read at home and outside of school. This may include books from school, library books, self-selected reading, and both digital and print materials. Reading aloud with a parent or guardian also counts toward total minutes and supports family literacy. How the Program Works: • Students will track their out-of-school reading minutes on a paper log. • A parent or guardian should sign the log each week. • Logs will be returned to the classroom teacher each Monday. • All reading minutes are compiled and reported to the RailRiders at the end of the program. Student Prizes: Every student who participates will be recognized! Prizes are awarded based on the highest reading achievement level reached: • Single (under 400 minutes): Participation certificate • Double (400+ minutes): Certificate + two tickets to a RailRiders game • Triple (800+ minutes): Certificate + four tickets to a RailRiders game • Home Run (1,300+ minutes): Certificate + four tickets, first pitch at a RailRiders home game, and a T-shirt • Top Overall Reader: On-field recognition at a RailRiders game, autographed baseball, and photo with CHAMP All participating students will also receive a Red Robin coupon. Student tickets are redeemable on June 9 or June 10, 2026. Prizes are subject to change. We encourage all families to support their child's reading journey and help make this a fun and successful experience. Reading is the foundation for lifelong learning, and together we can make it exciting and rewarding! Thank you for your continued support.

Mrs. Walski’s class proudly celebrated National Rare Disease Day, observed on the last day of February! 💙🖤🤍
Did you know that 1 in 10 Americans is living with a rare disease? The zebra is the official mascot, representing the “uncommon” medical answers doctors are encouraged to consider. Just like every zebra’s stripes are unique, every individual’s journey is unique too.
Our students joined the movement to #ShowYourStripes by wearing zebra-themed clothing and learning about the importance of awareness, compassion, and inclusion. We are so proud of their support for this meaningful cause! 🦓✨
