Dear Students and Parents/Guardians,

We are pleased to announce that Pittston Area High School will serve as an official SAT testing site for the upcoming test date on May 2nd, 2026. This is a great opportunity for students intending to attend a four-year college or improve exam scores for scholarships to take the exam in a familiar and convenient location.

Test Day Details:

Date: 5/2/26

Location: Pittston Area High School – enter through bus port

Arrival Time: 7:45 AM

Test Start Time: 8:00 AM

Expected End Time: 11:00 AM

Registration Information:

Students must register in advance through the official College Board website to select our location as their test center. The test center code for our location is 39590. The registration deadline for the May test date is April 17, 2026.

On Test Day, please ensure students bring the following mandatory items:

· Their printed or electronic Admission Ticket.

· An approved, valid photo ID.

· A device with the Bluebook app installed and set up for the digital test, if using a personal device.

· A power cord for their device.

· Pencils for scratch work.

· An approved calculator (optional, as there is a built-in one in Bluebook).

We encourage all students to prepare thoroughly using the free official digital SAT prep resources available through Khan Academy.

Attention WBACTC Students and Parents

There will be no school for PAHS students on Friday, 3/20/26. However, PAHS students attending WBACTC will have special bus runs. Ninth and tenth-graders will be transported to WBACTC for morning classes and will return home after class. The Junior Leadership Northeast Class of 2027 application is now available! Please click here to access the application. More information is also available at leadershipnortheast.org.

The application deadline is Friday, February 27, 2026. *Check with your guidance department to find out if an internal school deadline has been set.

Application Process:

1.      Applicants must be in good academic and attendance standing and obtain permission from the guidance office to apply to the Junior Leadership Northeast program. 

2.      Submit the online application and the $40 application fee (check/money order/credit card) *If this fee is a hardship and a barrier to application, please contact the Leadership office at (570) 270-5323 to request that this fee be waived.

3.      Submit TWO Student Leadership Assessments: Must be completed by two adults (other than your parent or relative) who have known you for more than one year. A link to the Student Assessment form can be found here and on the Leadership Northeast website.

4.      Only the first 20 completed applications (including Assessments and the $40 processing fee) received from each school by the established deadline will be eligible for consideration. You will receive a confirmation email from Nicole Hurchick once the Leadership Northeast office has received all required materials for your application packet.

Wednesday, January 27, 2026 – Important Information
Good Evening,
We will follow a two-hour delay on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. The WBACTC will have a flexible instructional day, resulting in adjusted arrival and dismissal times for PAHS students attending WBACTC. Please review the details below.
1. Ninth-grade students attending WBACTC all day will not report to PAHS and will participate in a flexible instruction day.
2. Ninth- and tenth-grade students attending WBACTC for a half day will not attend PAHS in the morning. They should go to their designated bus stops, as on previous two-hour delays, and will arrive at PAHS at approximately 11:45 AM.
3. Eleventh- and twelfth-grade students attending WBACTC will be dismissed after their fourth-period class at 11:57 AM. Students who drive may leave at that time. Transportation will be provided shortly after for those who need a ride home.
